This and That

My sweet friend Inger emailed me the other day to tell me she was cleaning out her garage and her dear husband was kindly asking her to give away some of the stuff. She said she had some beautiful dishes and wondered if I would like them...UM, HELLO...YES PLEASE! How nice of her to think of me! And on top of that she sent them to me all the way from Cali. Well, actually her husband sent them to me and he included a very funny note about all the other things he could send my way so he could have his garage back. He went on to list them (couple of sewing machines, miles of fabric, scrapbook supplies, enough Christmas ornaments to decorate the White House) Funny Scott!
These are the beautiful milk glass dishes that arrived at my door today! I absolutely love the candy dishes. Ironically my grandmother had these exact same plate and cup sets and I always admired them growing up. When she passed her stuff along there was some confusion on who they went to. I obviously wanted them really bad, but they ended up at the home of a sister that will remain nameless. :) Let it go Nikki, let it go.
This is a set of beautiful glass plates with matching punch cups. There is a little place on the plates to put the cups. These will be adorable for a baby or bridal shower.
Thank you so much Luffy! I LOVE EVERYTHING!
On another exciting note. My Pyrex dishes arrived today. That was some fast shipping. I love the shape and sizes of these. They are different from the regular Pyrex dishes. I think the deal is still available here ($1.99 each - then check the box that says sign up for 20% off...$1.60 each and shipping was $6.99)
This is Colton's new favorite thing. He loves to have his clothes off and just lay on this carpet. He will stretch and kick his legs and look all around. This entertains him for a good 20 minutes! If his clothes are on it will not work. How cute is he?

Deals Deals Deals

I think I have mentioned several times how much I love Hip 2 Save. I am literally obsessed with this blog and find myself checking it several times a day so I don't miss any deals. She has helped me to save hundreds of dollars over the past months. I love it because she does all the thinking for you and tells you what to buy, and what coupon to use. Easy Peasy!

After following some deals she posted yesterday and today (click on the Walgreens Link on hr sidebar to view these specific deals), I just got back from Walgreens with all the items above for a grand total of $4.77 (total savings was $32.87 - 3 separate transactions using my register rewards from the first to pay for the second) I was especially excited about the Triaminic Flu deal. I am sure this will come in handy when Adam gets the flu. Notice I said "when" he gets it, not "if". I know it is inevitable and I am dreading it.

I also jumped on the deal she posted on Thursday (cant seem to get the link to work to take you directly to the deal) for Pyrex Baking dishes for $1.99 plus 20% off. I was able to snag 6 different Pyrex dishes for a total of $16 and that included the shipping! I needed some for myself, but they would also make great shower or wedding gifts.

Just wanted to pass it on in case you don't use her site...I HIGHLY recommend it! And I recommend to check it often!

A Cheese Miracle :)...as Adam would say

Dolly passed on an email to me about this incredible deal going on at Kroger. I think today is the last day for this offer so hope some of you read this in time to take advantage of it. It may still be going on through Sunday, but I am not 100% sure. What you see above is 15 assorted packages of Kraft cheese that ended up costing me about .50 cents each! Our family really loves cheese and we can go through it. The cheese does not expire till October & November so we should be good for a while.
Here is the deal scenario:
Most Kraft cheeses are on sale at Kroger for $1.24 each. they should be clearly maked on the shelf which ones are $1.24, but it was most of them. If you buy 5 or more the price goes down to .99 cents each (this is advertised in the sales flyer in case you run into any problems) . When you check out use the self checkout line and make sure to scan your Kroger card. Your total with tax should be $5.08...but even better, it will spit out a $4 Kroger coupon for you with your receipt. I went back and got 5 more cheese packs and then used my $4 coupon towards it which made my total for those 5 packs $1.08...and it spit out another $4 coupon. So I went back again and did the same thing. At this point I had to stop myself from continuing the cycle, it was getting very addicting and exhilarating. I left with a big smile on my face and still had my last $4 coupon that I can use on my next Kroger trip. My grand total was 15 packs for $7.24! My total savings was $47.22! Hurry Up!

Food Lion Triples & Other Deals

I just had my first triple coupon experience and it was everything I imagined! Thanks to Donna, I was informed last week that the Va. Food Lions were having triple coupons this weekend. This was a shock seeing as they never even do doubles. We made a few trips to Food Lion over the weekend, since you can only use 20 coupons at a time, and had great savings each time. I am just going to post a picture of my recent trip today where my original total was $39.72 and my final cost was $5.67! My goal was for this last trip to come in under $1, but Mark had to throw in the coffee creamer (that we did not have a coupon for) without me knowing and my strategy was ruined. :) But I am still happy with my 86% savings!
Also wanted to pass on this deal I found at Target in case you are interested.
This Gillette set is only $7.99. These are not sample size products in the pack. They are full size and lucky for me these are the exact products Mark uses. Well, on top of the $7.99 being a great deal, I also used my $4 Gillette Fusion Razor coupon (most of you coupon girls have this coupon, Im sure) Which made it only $3.99. They also have a similar set for ladies, I think it is a Venus or something?

BzzAgent & My New BFF Sandra Lee

If you are sick and tired of hearing about coupons and deals then just click off this post as fast as you can. I promise you I am not going to tun into a tip and coupon blog. I will get back to my regularly scheduled programming soon, but wanted to pass this along.

I saw this interesting opportunity a few weeks ago on Hip 2 Save, of course! I really didn't need to add anything else to my busy schedule, but I figured it was free and seemed pretty simple, so I gave it a try. I got my package in the mail today. It was completely free and I didn't even have to pay shipping. It included a Glade Sense and Spray as well as a bunch of $4 coupons for me to hand out and tell people about the product.

The obligation is that I try the product and then go on the Bzz Agent site and post my review of the product. Once I do this, they will send me another product to review. I will also be able to accumulate "My Points" for each survey I do and also for taking different polls on the site. You can then redeem your points for products or gift cards to different stores. Pretty exciting. You can check out all the other details on the link I listed above. I am sure I left omething out.

And while I am promoting new things I love...I got this magazine about a month

ago and L-O-V-E it.

I am sure you are all familiar with Sandra Lee and her Semi-Homemade show on Food Network. It is no secret that I do not like to bake or cook and I love anything that makes it easier. So I love that she takes ready made or frozen foods and jazzes them up to feel like they are homemade. I have enjoyed this magazine even more than my PEOPLE mag which is saying alot! I have made almost every recipe in it which is also saying alot! This one is my FAVORITE. Burrito Casserole...tastes just like Enchiladas, but uses frozen burritos! May sound gross, but it is yummy! The pictures are from the magazine...wanted to be honest! :0 She also includes craft and decorating ideas in the magazine which is a BONUS!

We had this for dinner tonight. Italian Cream Cheese Chicken. Very good and even better for leftovers.

I highly recommend this magazine...run out and get your copy.

More Deals

I just ran to Kroger to get this great deal!

Bolt DVD was $19.99. I used the $5 off coupon and then also got all the grocery items for FREE. I picked up the flyer when I went in and it lists the specific items to get FREE with the movie. They all rang up FREE. My total for the movie and food was $16.03. Then after I send in for the $4 rebate, my final cost for everything will be $12.03! Check the details on the rebate, you will also need a receipt with one of the items purchased that they list, but it can be on a separate receipt.

I also just happened to have this coupon for $7 off a scrubbing bubbles automatic shower kit. When I was at Kroger, I noticed they had it marked down to $10.99 (from $15.99) That made the final price $3.99!!!!! Inside the box there are some coupons for more cleaning products too($13 in coupons inside)

Oh...and as you can see I got 3 more soaps and of course it printed me out a coupon with my receipt for 3 more.
