This and That

My sweet friend Inger emailed me the other day to tell me she was cleaning out her garage and her dear husband was kindly asking her to give away some of the stuff. She said she had some beautiful dishes and wondered if I would like them...UM, HELLO...YES PLEASE! How nice of her to think of me! And on top of that she sent them to me all the way from Cali. Well, actually her husband sent them to me and he included a very funny note about all the other things he could send my way so he could have his garage back. He went on to list them (couple of sewing machines, miles of fabric, scrapbook supplies, enough Christmas ornaments to decorate the White House) Funny Scott!
These are the beautiful milk glass dishes that arrived at my door today! I absolutely love the candy dishes. Ironically my grandmother had these exact same plate and cup sets and I always admired them growing up. When she passed her stuff along there was some confusion on who they went to. I obviously wanted them really bad, but they ended up at the home of a sister that will remain nameless. :) Let it go Nikki, let it go.
This is a set of beautiful glass plates with matching punch cups. There is a little place on the plates to put the cups. These will be adorable for a baby or bridal shower.
Thank you so much Luffy! I LOVE EVERYTHING!
On another exciting note. My Pyrex dishes arrived today. That was some fast shipping. I love the shape and sizes of these. They are different from the regular Pyrex dishes. I think the deal is still available here ($1.99 each - then check the box that says sign up for 20% off...$1.60 each and shipping was $6.99)
This is Colton's new favorite thing. He loves to have his clothes off and just lay on this carpet. He will stretch and kick his legs and look all around. This entertains him for a good 20 minutes! If his clothes are on it will not work. How cute is he?

I {HEART} Fall Blog Swap and "Luffy"

If Donna thought she was excited to get my Fall Swap Gift, magnify her excitement by 10 and that is how excited I was when I found out Inger ("Luffy"...that is my pet name for her and it is meant in love...she can call me "Hogs") had my name. My package arrived today and OH BOY was I some kind of happy!
A BIG, HUGE, HEAVY box was delivered to my doorstep and I knew exactly what it was before I even looked. I opened it up to find this BEAUTIFUL packaging.
This was the cute and sweet little note inside

OH MY GOSH...Each item was wrapped up and looked so adorable. I didn't want to unwrap them and mess them up. You know I am a sucker for packaging and cute wrapping. Good Job Luffy!!!

Never Enough Luff comes To The Burg

That's right! Inger is visiting "the Burg",with her entire family, for an extended weekend. I was so excited to finally get meet her IN PERSON. It is so weird how this blog thing has introduced me to so many people who would have otherwise been strangers. I met up with Denise, Dolly, Inger & Shae for breakfast at Cracker Barrel this morning. I was a little nervous and felt like I was going on a blind date, but once I got there I felt like I had known Inger for years.
Shae & Inger...Poor girls were still on CA time so it was like 6 am for them.
In true Inger style, she showed up with gifts for everyone. Dolly is modeling the beautiful bracelets Inger MADE for each of us. Sorry the picture is a little blurry, see better picture of the bracelet below. And as usual, Inger always remembers our children and had gifts for them too.
And this little guy was an angel for the entire breakfast. I was shocked, but very happy because that meant I got to enjoy myself and be part of the conversation. Whenever he hears people talking he thinks they are talking to him (even if they're not) and he instantly smiles and laughs.
Inger's husband Scott came at the end of the meal and took some group pictures for us. It was a fun morning and I am so glad that the blog world introduced me to a good friend like Inger. She is one special, creative, giving and funny lady! Wish she lived closer.
***Side Note***
After looking at this picture of myself I have 3 thoughts.
-I guess the baby weight is not going to magically disappear like I thought.
- I have no business eating a 3 pancake breakfast with bacon at CB.
-I need to start on a exercise plan ASAP.

As you can see, I was sporting my Corsage Tee for the breakfast. Funny thing happened. When we went to pay or bill the cashier said to me "I like your shirt, did you get it at JCrew"? I kid you not...she really asked that. We all laughed and Denise explained to the girl that I had made the shirt as a knock off of a JCrew shirt. Then the girl said "Oh, I work at JCrew and it looks just like the ones they have" Can I tell you this made my day and I still have a smile on my face. :)

Fun times in Greensboro

Warning: This post if very similar to the post you will see on Julie's blog :)
Mark and Dave were both out of town for the weekend, so Adam and I decided to go to Greensboro to visit Julie and the the kids. As always it was a good time full of lots of crafts and craft stores.
We have a rule that Adam is not allowed to have or play video games until he is 8 years old. There have been a few occasions when we have allowed exceptions, like this weekend. Adam was thrilled to find out that Peyton & Caden have a Wii and he kicked himself back in Dave's recliner and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. His mouth has not stopped talking about the Wii since we left. Oh great. I loved how Cade was so excited just to sit and watch Peyton and Adam play. What a good little brother.
Adam loving his special video game privileges...Dad is not going to be happy about this.
Then we all tagged along to a birthday party Caden was invited to at a bowling alley. I have no idea what this thing is called, but it was a neat alternative to Adam hurling the ball all over the place.
Seems like just yesterday that these two would hug all over each other and pose for the cutest pictures. What has happened to our little babies? One is leaning in and one is leaning out. Wont they make a cute couple in 20 years when they get married? That is my long term plan. Adam will be fine with the older woman thing.
Thank you Day family for a fun weekend.

Fall Swap Excitement

MyFallSwap gift arrived from Donna today. I cannot tell you how excited I was. I ripped open the box like I was a 5 year old child on Christmas morning. I had planned on waiting till tonight to have Mark take a picture of me opening it, but I just couldn't wait. Donna titled it "The fall gift for the mom on the go"
Beautifully Wrapped! So classy Donna.

"F" - $5 to FILL up on a gallon of gas. Nothing like some good ol cash!

"A" - AUTHENTIC Coach wallet. JACKPOT! Love it.

Look how my new wallet matches a purse I just bought this weekend. Lucky me.

"L" - LIP SHINE to help me with my sexiness (those are Donnas words not mine) I have already applied this lip gloss 3 times today and love it. But not sure if it is helping with the sexiness?

"L" - last but certainly not least a Starbucks gift card for a LATTE.
There is a Starbucks less than a block from my house, so you can bet I will be there tonight to get my Pumpkin Spice Latte!

THANK YOU Donna! I love every single thing. This has been so fun and exciting. Thank you to Denise for all your work in organizing this. Great idea.
