Coverplay...why didnt I think of that?

Have you ever watched someone come out with a great invention and wondered "Why didnt I think of that"? This happened to me Sunday night while watching Shark Tank (the new show on ABC where inventors pitch their ideas to possible investors) most of the ideas and inventions are a little kooky, but these 2 sassy, cute lady's came out to pitch their wonderful idea. A SLIPCOVER FOR A PACK & PLAY!!!!

Seriously, how many times have you laid your sweet baby down in a nasty hotel pack in play and wondered where that thing had been before you got it. Or you have an old pack and play that is a little worn out from previous children . Or your old pack & play was for a girl and now you need to use it for a boy. Well, CoverPlay has invented a slipcover that fits most pack and play's (port a crib, play yard...whatever you call them) and they are in the cutest fabrics too! You can take them off and wash them...take them with you when staying at a hotel...keep them on you pack and play at home and be able to wash it when it gets dirty as opposed to letting your baby fester in the germs! :) Check out the video here.

I just ordered this one for myself.

I think they sell them at target, but I got mine on ebay for $28 so you might want to check there first. Just thought I would pass it on in case you are interested. Dang it, why didnt I think of this!?

One Week

Happy One Week Birthday to Colton. I cant believe it has been a week already! Soon I will be saying I cant believe it has been a year and that makes me sad to even think about.
Colton has been such a perfect little baby since we brought him home, but last night he pulled out all the stops! He literally cried from 9 pm till 3 am. I mean screaming, crying, thrashing and nothing would comfort him. He had a seriously upset tummy and could not get rid of his gas, even with plenty of mylicon drops. Of course I went straight to my computer to google what to do (as if I am a first time mom or something...but you do forget these things) Anyway, I discovered something that many of you other moms were probably already aware of. GRIPE WATER.
Mark was so desperate for the crying to stop, he went all the way across town to the 24 hour Walgreens...at 2:30 in the morning to get this stuff. Within 15 minutes of giving it to Colton, he started burping like crazy and instantly fell asleep for 6 hours! Wonderful! Hopefully tonight will be better and we wont even need this.

July 21st Recap

Just wanted to document the events of July 21st. I was scheduled to be induced and I must admit I was very anxious and nervous that morning.
Me and Adam as we arrived at the hospital at 7:00 am!
Colton finally arrived 14 hours later. It was a wonderful process and my doctor and nurses were incredible. They let me have the epidural very early on so I had very minimal pain with contractions. This experience was far different than my birth with Adam and I was so thankful for how smoothly everything was.
Proud Papa!
Whew! Colton is looking a little rough in the picture. Somebody needs a bath.
Here we are waiting for Adam to come in and meet his brother.

Adam was so sweet and excited!
Tonya has been my "personal consultant" through this pregnancy and I am sure I have driven her crazy along the way. She also happened to be working the night Colton was born. 2 hours after she started her shift he was born. We said he was just waiting on her all day. I dont know what we would have done without her. THANK YOU Tonya!
Adam LOVES to hold Colton all the time and he is very gentle with him. Every time he holds him we hear him singing softly to him. It is so sweet and Colton really likes it. Yesterday, Adam said "I think my voice is magical"! HA!
Colton and Gigi
Uncle Josh
Aunt Jenny
Poppy
Aunt Noel
I made this banner to hang on our hospital room door. Now it is hanging on the wall in Coltons room.
My cousin Elizabeth & Gracie came for a visit. Gracie looks like she wants a little brother or sister. :)
And these crazy girls (Dolly & Denise ...with special guest Teecy) came to visit and made fun of my marshmallow pop party favors! :) Thanks for coming ladies! Have I mentioned how excited I am that Denise is back in town?!
Riley & Bentley didn't get to see Colton in the hospital so they came to visit yesterday. Riley was so good and sweet with Colton and Bentley was disgusted because Colton had a dirty diaper and was a little stinky.
Everything is going well and we are enjoying spending lots of time with both of our boys. We are blessed!

All we need is Colton

I went to the doctor yesterday and was disappointed that there was no exciting news to report. I know I still have 18 days, but I am really hoping for something to happen sooner. Ahhh...the waiting in the last final days is a killer.
Colton's room is ready and waiting for him for whenever he does decide to come.
Julie made this cowboy bedding for my sisters baby 3 years ago and I always loved it. Lucky for me my sister holds on to everything and passed it on to me for Colton's room. I love hand me downs!
Mark made this changing table for Adam 8 years ago. We pulled it down from the attic and gave it a fresh coat of paint. Love all the storage underneath, but I probably need to organize it all a little better.
I made this frame for Colton's ultrasound picture. Super easy...maybe I will post instructions some time.
A little dresser full of all his tiny, cute clothes.
I love this cute cowboy lamp. I got it as a gift at my shower. It also had a matching nightlight.
This is the cradle we will keep in our room and it has some history behind it. I bought this cradle from Denise at a yard sale probably 11 years ago. I gave it to my sister Noel as a gift when she was having her first baby (after I had painted it and made a cute bumper pad for it) Since then, it has been passed around and used for all of the babies in our family. It has been painted several different times and had several different fabric changes. I gave it one more update for Colton. Who will this be passed onto next? Noel? Jenny? :)

Baby Adam

I knew this was going to happen! Adam is really enjoying all the new baby toys...a little too much. This is how we found him in the baby's room the other night. and he was not the least bit embarrassed that I was taking this picture of him playing with baby toys. Looks like he is asleep, but he was very much awake and had been playing with all the new toys we got at the shower.

My friend Sally gave me some more pictures from the shower, so I thought I would post them.

Showered

My sweet sisters (along with some help from my mom, Aunt Carrie & Elizabeth) gave me the most beautiful baby shower last night. It was so fun and everything seems so official now that I have all the baby gear I need. Am I really having a baby? Somebody pinch me!

Me and my sistas! Jenny & Noel This was the adorable invite that went out. The pregnant lady on the card looks just like me dont you think? Tall, skinny with a cute little bump! :) I am actually the exact opposite of that description.
My cousin Elizabeth OUTDID herself on the cake and cookies for the shower. Check out how the cake matches the invite perfectly! And the cookies were in the shape of little onsies with a "C" on them. She is one talented girl.
My good friend, Sally, made this cute diaper cake. Check out the polka dot diapers! I didn't know those even existed. she said they were Target brand! Look at all my loot! :) Can you believe all those gifts? I felt so special and loved.

Julie couldn't make it for the shower, but sent this diaper bag. I LOVE IT! It is exactly what I wanted. She also made this tie bib. how cute is that.
Speaking of ties. While going through all my baby stuff last night, I realized I might be a little obsessed with all the tie onsies. This is my collection so far. I just think they are so funny and cute. I am sure 5 years from now I am going to look back and be embarrassed and think how tacky they were.

THANK YOU to everyone who came or helped with the shower! Thank you Jenny and Noel for hosting it. It was beautiful.
