All we need is Colton

I went to the doctor yesterday and was disappointed that there was no exciting news to report. I know I still have 18 days, but I am really hoping for something to happen sooner. Ahhh...the waiting in the last final days is a killer.

Colton's room is ready and waiting for him for whenever he does decide to come.

Julie made this cowboy bedding for my sisters baby 3 years ago and I always loved it. Lucky for me my sister holds on to everything and passed it on to me for Colton's room. I love hand me downs!
Mark made this changing table for Adam 8 years ago. We pulled it down from the attic and gave it a fresh coat of paint. Love all the storage underneath, but I probably need to organize it all a little better.
I made this frame for Colton's ultrasound picture. Super easy...maybe I will post instructions some time.

I love this cute cowboy lamp. I got it as a gift at my shower. It also had a matching nightlight.
This is the cradle we will keep in our room and it has some history behind it. I bought this cradle from Denise at a yard sale probably 11 years ago. I gave it to my sister Noel as a gift when she was having her first baby (after I had painted it and made a cute bumper pad for it) Since then, it has been passed around and used for all of the babies in our family.It has been painted several different times and had several different fabric changes. I gave it one more update for Colton. Who will this be passed onto next? Noel? Jenny? :)

My new kitchen

This post may not impress some of you who have big beautiful kitchens with custom cabinets and granite counter tops. But my loving husband has just finished a month long project of totally renovating our kitchen and I am just thrilled beyond words! First of all, we live in a very old and very small house. Which means the kitchen was VERY old and VERY VERY small. The layout was terrible and I hated to cook in it because it was so hard and to make matters worse there was no dishwasher and no place to put a dishwasher so everytime I would cook, that would mean I would have to wash all the dishes by hand! Hated it! We decided to try and sell our house in a few months and knew that the kitchen would have to be updated in order to do so. So my talented husband took the project on all by himself. While also managing his job as a teacher, coaching basketball, working on his Masters degree and not neglecting family time! He is amazing! So here are the before and afters.

This is the all white kitchen before. It does not look so bad from a distance, but the cabinets were original to the house and were falling apart. The also had a rotten wood smell to the, which is not a good smell to have in your kitchen.

This is the evidence of about 20 layers of paint on the cabinets. They had been painted so many times that paint would not even stick to them anymore...notice all the peeling paint. YUCK!

AHHHHH! The beautiful after. We are waiting on a microwave for over the stove, so just use your imagination. You will also notice a new DISHWASHER!

Another odd before picture. In the old layout the stove was stuck over in a corner by itself. Not practical at all.

The after. Mark moved the fridge and added a pantry to the awkward area where the stove used to be.

This was another weird layout choice. The fridge was over by itself and right up against the back door.
After. Mark added a little desk area where the fridge used to be. Adam is excited to use this for his homework desk and breakfast table.

Thank you Mark. You did a wonderful job and I am so happy with my new kitchen. Maybe I will start cooking more and actually be able to submit some recipes to Whats for Din Din. Too bad we only get to enjoy it for a few months before it is time to sell. Thank you to my Uncle Tommy for all your advice and for letting us borrow your tools...oh, and also a big thank you to my BIL Chad for your bruit strength when hanging the cabinets!
