Here we go. This will be my first post for my new series called KIR (Keepin it Real).
OK...deep breath...I am about to show you something that I would normally hide from the world. In my mind and dreams, Adams room would look something like this.
But the reality is that this is Adam's room 2 days after Christmas! AHHHHH!
The whole family ended up having to go in and do an intervention. It took us ALL day to clear out the messes in this room. Not pictured is the inside of his closet where the main issues were hiding. We love watching the show Hoarders and we kept joking with Adam that he is a "Hoarder in training". He literally has an emotional attachment to everything and does not want to get rid of one single keychain, rock, broken pencil or happy meal toy. I kept picking up things and jokingly saying to him "Adam, how would it make you feel if we threw this away" (the line the therapist use on the show). Every time he would reply with a big long explanations of what the item meant to him and when he got it and who gave it to him...JUST LIKE the crazy people on the show.I think we have joked with him a little too much because he is now very paranoid that he is a hoarder. He keeps saying to me "Do you think I am a hoarder...I dont want to be a hoarder mom...I think I am just a normal 8 year old boy...all boys have stuff like this mom". :) Too funny.

Funny post! Okay, it could be worse. At least you only have one child old enough to have a messy room. We have 3 here! The little girls still have their personal maid (me) but in time they will be there too. BTW, years ago, Maddie made me promise that I would never post a picture of her room on my blog.
I am waiting until Monday when my children go back to school. Then I am going in each room with a big old basket to collect the junk! I seriously cannot wait! Cleaning out my parents home the past few months made me realize how much we really don't need!
Oh, man! I JUST cleaned out our playroom literally an hour agao and it was a WRECK. I wish I would have taken a before pic. I even threw away some toys because I was sick of them and picking them up:) Adams' room craked me up with your arrows! I will do a KIR post soon. There are many options in this house:)

Okay, I am liking "Keeping it Real" too...I think we all have a child's room JUST LIKE THAT! You should have seen Lindsay's closet and room when we cleaned it out on Christmas DAY! Hahahaha. 3 trash bags later (that went to the salvation army on the Monday after Christmas). Oh if all the closets in my house looked like hers does now!
